Travel Information

Non-urgent advice: Patient Notice

DUE TO THE ONGOING PRESSURES PRESENTED BY COVID-19, AND AS MANY TRAVEL VACCINATIONS ARE A PRIVATE SERVICE, THIS SERVICE IS CURRENTLY NOT RUNNING AS NORMAL. PLEASE CONTACT THE SURGERY TO CONFIRM WHAT LEVEL OF SERVICE IS CURRENTLY BEING PROVIDED.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to contact the surgery so that we can take some details from you. This will include dates of travel, and which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.  There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below.

Europe Europe & RussiaNorth America North America
Central America Central Americaindia South America
egypt Carribeanlithuania Africa
bulgaria Middle Eastpoland Central Asia
china East Asiachina Australasia and Pacific

It is important to make this initial contact as early as possible  – at least 8 weeks before you travel – as a multiple appointments across a few months may be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations.  These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.  Your final appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Unfortunately, we may reject a query if it isn’t made at least 8 weeks before travel.

Some travel vaccines are only available privately. We do not offer private travel vaccinations.

In these circumstances, you may need to go to one of the private clinics, a few of which are listed below.

Boots at Four seasons shopping centre Mansfield  offer free travel health clinic advice including prescribing medication and vaccine but this will cost.
You can book appt online through the boots website.
The other providers are the Park Hospital 01158967878 and
